Choose the right tool
”Social collaboration in an organisation fosters just-in-time innovation and is enabled, not created, by digital tools” (Cuddeford-Jones, 2011, p. 2).
With a multitude of communication apps available, choosing the right one for your organization is a good start. Predetermining what criteria the tool needs to fulfill will aid in the successful selection of just the right app for you.
Slack is one example of tools that can be used for collaboration within education. A tool like this gives you the opportunity to potentially enhance the student experience outside of the learning management system (LMS).

G Suite for Education from Google is a great way to implement numerous solutions that can be used for communication among groups. From Google Meet which gives the opportunity for live connections and screen sharing to the Google productivity apps that create an online version similar to Microsoft apps. This is a larger project to implement but gives a lot of functionality.
